DESCRIPTION:
Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) E.N. Welch Mfg. Co., Forestville, Conn., "Patchen" hanging clock, 8 day, time only, spring driven movement in an oak case with papered metal dial, c1900; (2) E.N. Welch Mfg. Co., Forestville, Conn., "Verdi" hanging clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven movement in a rosewood veneer case with painted metal dial, c1889.
CONDITION:
(1) Case with original finish that has darkened with age. The dial is worn in spots and has darkened all over. The minute hand and pendulum are old, but not original to this clock. Partial rear label. The upper glass is wavy. (2) Case has been rubbed down and a clear coat applied over the original finish. Dial has been professionally repainted and the seconds dial seems a bit too large. New black flocking applied to the interior of the case. Good rear label. Both glasses appear old. Dimensions are for the "Verdi" (2) .
